Defibrillator Training

Harescombe Parish Council is considering arranging a defibrillator training and basic first aid course for parishioners.

Learners will have the opportunity to practice skills, such as putting someone into the recovery position, deal with someone who is choking, bleeding management, performing CPR and using a defibrillator. The course will last around 3 hours and is likely to be on an autumn or winter weekend.

The council is considering subsidising places on this course and the cost to each learner will be around just £20.00. Attendees will need to be resident in the parish. In exceptional circumstances, the council may subsidise an entire place for a learner if they can evidence exceptional hardship, and the parish council accepts that evidence.

There will be a maximum of 12 places on this course. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis following announcement of the date. Places will not be confirmed until payment has been received.

The course time and date will be announced by an email broadcast from the parish council. In order to receive an email broadcast notification, you will need to 'sign on for email alerts' by clicking on the banner on the right hand side of this webpage.  By subscribing, you will also receive other future updates from the parish council.

The council needs to gauge levels of interest to see if arranging a course is a viable proposition. In the first instance, at this time, expressions of interest are sought by emailing the clerk to the council at [email protected]
